With one-on-one tutoring our tutors are most likely going to make a positive connection with your child. Not only will your child achieve academic gains but their self-esteem will also improve. And because there is one-on- one tutoring, your child will reach their goals much faster than any "group style" tutoring centre. |

A note from Science Tutors 4 U.
Most tutoring centres will tell you that they provide an individualized approach. A classroom teacher can say the same thing! This does not mean that your child is going receive one-on-one instruction. Most tutoring centres in Canada group students in small or large group settings and call it tutoring. Their groups are heterogeneous. This means that in any one group you will have students in different grades and subjects within that group! Now that is confusing! That is why they try and force you to commit to two or three hours a week. This is because they know that your child is only getting 10-20 minutes/Hour of instruction from their "group style" centred learning. That is just more money in their pocket and less money in yours!
They guarantee that there will be academic gains or that your child will increase a full grade in their "group style" tutoring centre.
If that is what a "group style" tutoring centre guarantees, just imagine what one-on-one In-Home tutoring will do!
Because of the one-on-one learning that Tutors For Less offers, our tutors are most likely going to make a positive connection with your child. Not only will your child achieve academic gains but their self-esteem will also improve. And because our tutors have your child's full attention for that hour, your child will reach their goals much faster than any "group style" tutoring centre.
There may also be a stigma or label attached to going to a tutoring centre. Our private In-home tutoring provides your child with an instructor in your home who will support your child's academic needs.
Tutoring centres will try to convey to you that their expensive assessment is needed.
Your child does not need an assessment. Instead consult with your child’s teacher and ask them for areas that they need improvement in. Your child teacher holds valuable and important information! Be careful about tutoring agencies that offer you free assessments. These agencies are trying to fool you into believing that they are professionals who are conducting a genuine educational assessment. When if fact they are far from a genuine education assessment. A genuine assessment should only be conducted by a trained and qualified psychologist. What these agencies are trying to do is serenade you into buying their services. Let’s face it, once their in your home you feel more obligated to purchase their services because you think they have wasted their time on you and your child. In essence what you have just done is invited an In-home telemarketer who would like you to buy their tutoring products. Tutoring centres also do not administer assessments by a trained and qualified psychologist. They are using the same type assessment that your nearby special education teacher in your school has access to. The reason why tutoring centres are giving your child an assessment is because they need to give out worksheets to your child so they can work independently while they can teach the other children in their group (size varies from 3-5 students who are in different academic levels). This ultimately means your child would receive less one-on-one attention. This is why Tutors For less Works! You can’t get any better than one-on-one individualized attention your child receives from our tutors. At Tutors For Less we feel strongly about not administering assessments. Your child needs to build his/her confidence from the start. An assessment that occurs before they start a tutoring program might turn your child away from receiving valuable tutoring assistance. When a program is a one-on-one individualized tutoring program, our tutors can pinpoint areas of improvement and gaps in learning right on the spot. Therefore, there is no need for an assessment, because the tutor is always constantly focusing on your child’s progress.
The real reason why they are giving your child an assessment is because they need to give out worksheets to your child so they can work independently while they can teach the other children in the group. Instead of advancing your child is actually backtracking with this type of learning.
This is why Tutors For Less does not ask you for an expensive assessment. Our tutors will work on your child’s current grade level. The tutor will work on filling in the gaps your child needs, to be successful in their class. That is why 1-on-1 tutoring works!
